What is

YEB

Young Entrepreneurs' Boot Camp (YEB) at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus is a 6-day long residential program for school students (Grade 9 to 12 or equivalent) designed to give a glimpse of technology driven innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem at BITS Pilani.

YEB will enlighten and actively engage the participants about various aspects of entrepreneurship through talks, workshops and visits to state of the art facilities at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. The talks will be delivered by eminent professors, entrepreneurs, scientists, innovators and our distinguished alumni.

The students will also get an opportunity to showcase their innovation and entrepreneurial capabilities via "BITS Pilani YEB Innovation Pitching Challenge". Last but not the least, the program includes a lot of fun and cultural activities for students. Come on board to open the doors to the entrepreneurial world!

Can You

Participate?

YEB is designed for school students who are excited about innovations and entrepreneurship.

To participate in YEB 2026, you must be a student in any Grade between 9th to 12th (or equivalent).

Application fee is ₹500 per student. Subsidised 6-day programme fee is ₹25,000 per student — inclusive of accommodation, meals, campus facilities, all lectures and hands-on sessions.

A rigorous two-round process to identify top entrepreneurial talent.

Round 1

Essay (100–150 words)

Question 1:

Can you describe what makes you interested in Entrepreneurship & Startups?

Question 2:

If you had a chance to solve one "self-reliance" problem given the ongoing geopolitical situation, which problem would you choose and why? Briefly explain your solution.

Assessment Rubric

  • Content – Relevance, depth, and substantive value

Round 2

Group Discussion

Applicants will be shortlisted for an online GD round. Students will be able to select a GD slot as per their schedule to avoid clash with exams.

Further details about GD topics and evaluation criteria will be communicated to shortlisted candidates.

Answers to the most common questions about YEB 2026.

Accommodation & Stay

Where will my child be staying?

Participants will stay in the student hostels at the Hyderabad campus of BITS Pilani. The hostels are secure, well-maintained, and located within the campus premises.

Is the accommodation shared or individual?

Accommodation will be on a shared basis, with two participants per room. Separate hostel facilities will be provided for boys and girls.

Can my child stay outside the campus?

No. All participants are required to stay on campus throughout the Bootcamp for safety, supervision, and full participation in all activities.

Will accommodation be provided for parents?

Accommodation is only available for student participants. However, we will be happy to share information about nearby hotels and guest houses for accompanying parents.

What are the reporting (check-in) and check-out timings?

Check-in: July 18th by 2:00 PM.
Check-out: July 23rd, shortly after the closing session.
A detailed reporting schedule will be shared closer to the event.

Travel & Transportation

Will airport or railway station pick-up/drop facilities be provided?

The organizing team will share details of reliable cab agencies frequently used by the campus community. Participants may pre-book cabs directly with these agencies. Parents are also welcome to personally drop off and pick up their children from the campus.

Which locations are closest to the campus?

Recommended arrival points are: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad, and Secunderabad Railway Station. Detailed travel guidance and contact information will be shared before the Bootcamp.

Can someone other than a parent pick up or drop off a participant?

Yes, but parents must inform the organizing team in advance and provide the authorized person’s details. For safety reasons, students will not be allowed to leave with unauthorized individuals.

Safety & Supervision

What kind of supervision will students receive?

Participants will be supervised throughout the Bootcamp by faculty members, Ph.D. scholars, mentors, startup founders, and trained support staff.

Are security measures available on campus?

Yes. The campus has:
24/7 security personnel
CCTV surveillance
Controlled entry and exit protocols
Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls

Is there an emergency support team?

Yes. A dedicated team will be available round-the-clock to handle emergencies, health concerns, or any participant-related issues.

Are medical services available on campus?

Yes. The campus has a 24/7 medical center with qualified doctors and emergency support. Parents are requested to inform us about any medical conditions or allergies in advance, ensure participants carry prescribed medications, and share emergency contact details during registration.

Can my child leave early from the Bootcamp?

Early departure is discouraged unless there is a genuine medical or personal emergency. Parents should inform the organizing team in advance if such a situation arises.

Can participants leave campus during the Bootcamp?

No. Participants are required to remain on campus throughout the program to ensure their safety and active participation in all activities.

Food & Daily Essentials

What kind of food will be provided?

Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals will be available in the campus dining facilities.

Can dietary restrictions or allergies be accommodated?

Yes. Parents are requested to mention dietary restrictions, allergies, or special food requirements during registration so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Can participants bring outside food or order from restaurants?

No. Meals and snacks will be provided on campus. Outside food delivery is discouraged for safety, hygiene, and logistical reasons.

Will toiletries be provided?

No. Participants should bring their own toiletries and personal essentials. Basic hostel utilities such as buckets and mugs will be available.

Should students bring sleeping bags or bedding?

No. Beds, mattresses, pillows, bedsheets, and blankets will be provided in the hostel rooms.

Communication & Connectivity

Can children carry mobile phones?

Yes. Participants may carry phones, which will also help them access schedules and announcements. However, phone use during sessions and workshops will be restricted to minimize distractions.

What is the best time for parents to contact their children?

Parents are encouraged to call during designated free hours, typically in the evening. A detailed daily schedule will be shared in advance.

Will students have access to Wi-Fi?

Yes. Wi-Fi access will be available in designated areas for academic and communication purposes.

How can parents contact the organizing team during the Bootcamp?

Emergency contact numbers and official email IDs of the organizing team will be shared with all registered parents before the Bootcamp begins.

Clothing & Packing

What kind of clothing should students bring?

Hyderabad weather in July is generally warm with occasional rain. Participants are advised to carry comfortable casual clothing, sports shoes, a light rain jacket or umbrella, a reusable water bottle, notebook and stationery, laptop (recommended), any prescribed medications, and one set of formal or semi-formal clothing for the final pitch presentation. A detailed packing checklist will be shared before the Bootcamp.

How many students will participate in the Bootcamp?

Approximately 150 students from grades 9–12 will participate in the Bootcamp.

What activities are included in the program?

The Bootcamp includes entrepreneurship workshops, innovation and design thinking sessions, team projects and pitching sessions, mentoring interactions, lab visits, and recreational activities such as sports, music, games, and networking sessions.

Will participants receive certificates?

Yes. All participants will receive a certificate of participation. Special awards and recognitions will also be given during the final presentations and pitching sessions.

What facilities are available on the campus?

The campus includes modern classrooms and labs, hostels and dining facilities, sports and recreational spaces, a medical center, Wi-Fi-enabled learning spaces, and 24/7 security infrastructure.

Can parents or students view the campus before arrival?

Yes. A virtual tour link of the campus will be shared with registered participants and parents.

Will students be grouped according to age?

Yes. Efforts will be made to ensure age-appropriate grouping during accommodation, mentoring, and team activities.

What happens if a participant feels homesick or uncomfortable?

Our mentors and support team are experienced in working with school students and will provide emotional support, guidance, and assistance whenever needed.

Is participation mandatory for all sessions?

Yes. Since the Bootcamp is designed as an immersive learning experience, participants are expected to attend and actively engage in all scheduled activities and sessions.

What is the refund policy if a participant leaves the Bootcamp after joining?

Once a participant has checked into the campus and officially joined the Young Entrepreneurs Bootcamp (YEB), the registration fee will not be refunded if the participant chooses to leave the program midway for personal or non-emergency reasons. As the Bootcamp has limited seats, each confirmed registration blocks an opportunity for another deserving student to participate. Significant logistical, accommodation, mentoring, and resource planning is also carried out in advance for every selected participant. Exceptions, if any, may only be considered in cases of genuine medical emergencies or other exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the organizing committee.
